Pentiment and Grounded are two very different video games. The former is an adventure RPG set in the medieval ages and featuring an appropriately medieval art style, while the latter is basically Honey, I Shrunk the Kids in video game form as a survival base-building RPG. Literally, the only commonalities they share are that they are RPGs, and that they are both award-winning, critically acclaimed games. Oh, and that they both were Xbox and PC-exclusive games. With an emphasis on “were”. That all appears to be changing now. What else do you call it when both of those games are heading to Nintendo Switch and both PlayStations?

Pentiment and Grounded: Console Details

Pentiment & Grounded coming soon to more consoles.
Rejoice, console players! The non-Microsoft console players, that is.

Obsidian Entertainment in their official blog has just revealed that both Pentiment and Grounded will finally see video game consoles outside of the Xbox. It’s about time, too. The former had its debut on November 15, 2022; while the latter had the same on September 27, 2022. That means both games have enjoyed well over a year of being PC and Xbox exclusives. So it’s about time those of us who don’t have high-end PCs or Xbox Series S/X can play these games.

As for the details for each game? Well, to start with: Pentiment will be available on the Nintendo Switch, and the PS4 and PS5. The game will be available for digital download on all those consoles on February 22, 2024. In fact, that’s literally right now as of this writing. As for physical copies, those will be available from Limited Run Games from the release date until March 24, 2024. So if you want that permanent premium, you’ll have to hurry.

A very quirky yet dark medieval game, indeed.

As for Grounded? That game will also be available on the Nintendo Switch, and the PS4 and PS5. The game will be available for digital download on April 16, 2024; with preorder options to open soon. In addition, Update 1.4 will launch on the game on its release date for those non-Xbox consoles, all to bring everyone up to speed on the same game.

Like Subnautica, but on land.
