2021 was much different than 2020 in regards to film. 2020 had barely any movies released in theaters, while 2021 saw the return of theaters. However, what was born out of 2020 in movie streaming stayed with us. Platforms like HBO Max, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Disney+, and more revolutionized what it meant to watch a movie. Films like Dune, Godzilla vs. Kong, Red Notice, The Power of the Dog, and more were exclusive to streaming services or also released in theaters. Don’t forget the Disney+ Premiere Access for films like Black Widow and Jungle Cruise.

These types of release formats and schedules made it so that we had great films in our homes all year round, in addition to the ones that were released in theaters. For this year, instead of one list, the THS staff are putting together all of our Top 10 lists for 2021 and trying to make some sense of what the movie of the year would be. So without further ado, let’s get to the lists. Included with the lists are the reviews THS did for each movie!

Spider-Man: No Way Home Is The Movie Of The Year

It was a close battle between The Suicide Squad and Spider-Man: No Way Home, with both showing up on a majority of lists. However, Spider-Man was on 6/7 lists, showing up in the top 3 all six times. This was a fantastic year for movies of all kinds, though. So, what’s your list? Let us know in the comments!
