Apparently, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts isn’t just going to be a one-off film. No, it’s apparently going to be the start of a brand new trilogy. Now let’s hope it’s better than the Michael Bay films.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts ~ Trilogy in Disguise?

Nothing but a logo…for now.

On their Twitter account, Paramount+ announced that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will receive a theatrical release sometime next year in 2023. However, that release date isn’t the only thing they reveal. Apparently, this latest live-action Transformers film will be “the first of three new installments”. Yes, you read that right. We are going to get a brand new trilogy with this new film.

Paramount+ doesn’t reveal anything more than that. Heck, we don’t even have a trailer or even a theatrical poster for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts yet. All we have is the assurance that it won’t be a standalone film, and instead will be an arc covering 3 separate films. Now hopefully, Steven Caple Jr. might give us a better Transformers film series than what Michael Bay gave us. Even though Travis Knight did a perfectly good job with Bumblebee, but eh, that’s something out of our control.

Other Transformers News?

Hmm, a CGI animated series. This could be either really good, or really bad.

That bit about Transformers: Rise of the Beasts being the first of a new trilogy isn’t the only thing Paramount+ has for us today as far as Transformers news is concerned. Paramount+ also announces that a “new animated series from @Nickelodeon arrives this fall”. Considering that Nickelodeon only has Transformers: Earthspark slated for it this year, it’s safe to say that we’ll be seeing what’s up with it later in 2022.

Big glowing, green rock? Looks like your standard weapons-grade MacGuffin to me.

The last bit of Transformers news Paramount+ has for us today is that we’re apparently going to get a “CG animated Transformers theatrical film”. This film apparently has a release date of 2024, but other than that, there are no details about it. Not even a title. We do know that there’s a prequel film slated for that year which will take place entirely on old Cybertron, and will focus on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron. You know, before the latter turned to evil. That might be something to look forward to once we’ve seen Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
