BoxLunch, a renowned Pop Culture retailer, is recognized for its impactful philanthropic collaboration with Feeding America. The recent Holiday Gala held last night was a star-studded event that celebrated the remarkable achievements accomplished throughout the year.

In case you are unfamiliar, BoxLunch has implemented a remarkable initiative that is both straightforward and impactful. For every $10 that customers spend either in-store or online, BoxLunch generously provides a meal to an individual in need. BoxLunch’s nationwide stores contribute to local food banks, making a significant impact on hunger relief efforts at a local level. In 2023, BoxLunch proudly reached a significant milestone of donating 175 million meals to Feeding America.

BoxLunch hosted a star-studded event at Academy LA to celebrate achievements with friends, influencers, and Pop Culture celebrities. The event was hosted by Community’s Joel McHale. Throughout the evening there were performances by Disney Legend, Anika Noni Rose, as well as an impressive magic show by Kevin Li from America’s Got Talent.

BoxLunch proudly appointed Shang Chi Ken himself, Simu Liu, as their inaugural Giving Ambassador. However, with the arrival of the new year, Simu Liu passed the torch to Violent Santa Himself, David Harbour. Harbour graciously continued the tradition of matching the generous $100,000 donation to Feeding America.

To further support their cause, BoxLunch recognized the exceptional work of four local food banks within the Feeding America network by presenting them with an award and donating $25,000 to each organization. Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness) and Dancing with the Stars Val Chmerkovskiy had the honor of presenting the esteemed “Community Commitment” award. The recipient of this prestigious award was Sari Vatske, the CEO of Central Texas Food Bank.

The Boys Erin Moriarty and David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer) had the honor of presenting the prestigious “Community Impact” award to Allyson Vaulx, Assistant Vice President of Philanthropy at Feeding South Florida.

Finally, The Marvels Teyonah Parris had the honor of presenting the prestigious “Community Outreach” award. The recipient of this award was Cassidie Bates, the Government, and Public Affairs Manager at the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano. These funds will be utilized by the food banks to benefit their respective local communities.

To conclude the extraordinary evening, Anika Noni Rose delivered a captivating rendition of “My Grown Up Christmas List,” serving as a heartfelt reminder of the true essence and significance of the Holiday season.
