You know how DC Studios has recently been removing high-profile actors like Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck from their superhero films left and right? All apparently as some kind of purge going on within the studio? Well fortunately, it appears that Gal Gadot is safe from that purge for the time being. So if you liked her performance as Wonder Woman in the titular films, then you needn’t worry. She’ll still be around to play this Amazon superhero.

Gal Gadot: Still Wonder Woman

Still ready to charge across no man’s land. Get it?

Comic Book has just released a report about a DC Studios press event where a certain James Gunn, co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios, was attending. During this press event, someone asked Gunn if “any former stars have been in talks for the franchise’s future”. In reply, Gunn basically confirms that Gal Gadot is not on the chopping block, unlike the other stars. While Gunn doesn’t specify any project in particular other than “stuff”, he does basically confirm that Gadot will reprise her role as Wonder Woman, since that’s her best known role at DC. If you want to read Gunn’s exact words on the subject, then you can do so below:

Some. We don’t know. We’ve talked to Gal. She’s up for doing stuff. We’re not sure what we’re going to do with that. All I can tell you really right now really is just Henry [Cavill] and Ben [Affleck] are not a part of this universe.

So while this means Gal Gadot’s role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman is assured, what about the other actors? Well, Gunn specifically specifies that Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck are definitely no longer part of the DC Universe. However, Gunn doesn’t actually specify anyone else. The fact that Gadot is staying on could mean that other DC actors might also be in talks to avoid the chopping block. The who is anyone’s guess though. Tune back in to THS later to find out who gets the chop at DC and who doesn’t when we do.
