When it comes to Weird Al Yankovic, his music is legendary. He’s one of the most prolific and excellent parody artists out there. It was high time for him to get the music biopic treatment. Like Weird Al’s songs, they take something famous or cliche about music and turn it on its head. Well, after watching the trailer for WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story, you might see some similarities between other biopics and this one. Not only does it look like it contains every musical biopic cliche ever, but it looks like it’s going full Weird Al and parodying those musical biopics at the same time.

Daniel Radcliffe is “Weird” Al Yankovic in the unexaggerated true story about the greatest musician of our time. From a conventional upbringing where playing the accordion was a sin, Al rebelled and made his dream of changing the words to world-renowned songs come true. An instant success and sex symbol, Al lives an excessive lifestyle and pursues an infamous romance that nearly destroys him.

It also stars Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, Rainn Wilson, Will Forte, and features an appearance by Weird Al. Eric Appel directed the film and co-wrote the script with Weird Al Yankovic.

WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story releases exclusively on the Roku Channel on November 4th, 2022.
