You know how The Flash seems to be getting a lot of cameos from past seasons for its upcoming ninth season? Mostly because this particular season is going to be the last season? Well, as it turns out, we’re going to get another cameo for the final season. This time though, he’s a pretty famous cameo. I mean, how much more famous can you get than Green Arrow himself?

Entertainment Weekly (abbreviated to EW) has just revealed the latest cameo to appear in the upcoming ninth and final season of The Flash, and this time, it’s the legendary Green Arrow himself. Not only that, but Stephen Amell will be returning to play Oliver Queen for this cameo. It’s actually kind of hilarious that Amell will be returning to play the main character of the show that served as the basis for The Flash. It’s like the whole show has come full circle, I think. Even executive producer Eric Wallace thinks so in his statement below:

As soon as our final season was announced, we knew we wanted Stephen to come back and reprise his iconic role as Oliver Queen. After all, it was Oliver who originally launched Barry Allen on his heroic path. That’s why everyone on Team Flash felt so strongly that it was important to create a full-circle moment with Oliver’s return in the final season of The Flash. The result is an epic-yet-emotional episode we hope Arrowverse fans will enjoy.

It’s all to say ‘thank you’ to everyone for watching and supporting our show throughout nine wonderful years. We absolutely cannot wait for everyone to see Grant Gustin] and Stephen saving the world together again. And yes, there will be thrills, chills, and tears.

Interestingly enough, it appears that the Green Arrow will show up in the ninth episode of this final season of The Flash. People who’ve been following the news here at THS and other websites might find that episode to be familiar. It’s because the other cameos also appear in this particular episode. The implication is that this episode is when Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) heads out to the world to look for allies. What for? Well, we’ll find that out when season 9 premieres on February 8, 2023. Catch you all then.
