Our return to Hawkins and the Upside Down is just a week away. So, Netflix has a special Stranger Things treat to get you through the last seven days of waiting.

The streamer just dropped a new preview of season 4. But it’s not another trailer. Nope, this time, we have footage straight from the season premiere. You can watch the first 8 minutes of the premiere episode below.

Netflix also revealed the official episode count for season 4. It will be split into two releases. The first part of the season will premiere May 27 with seven episodes. The second part will premiere July 1 with two episodes.

It may seem strange to divide a season into parts when the second only includes two episodes. But series creators the Duffer brothers recently teased that the final episode is actually feature-length.

In season 4 of Stranger Things, it’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

So, what did you think of the first 8 minutes of Stranger Things season 4? Are you hooked already? Let us know in the comments below.

And tune in for the premiere of Stranger Things season 4 on Netflix May 27.
