Well, it appears that Disney isn’t paying attention to the social media storm brewing around ‘Ohana, or maybe they are. You decide.

'Ohana noodles, now no more.
The source of all this controversy.

Disney has just released the pricing for breakfast and dinner at ‘Ohana on June 9, 2021 via WDW News Today. Along with the pricing, the website confirms that the restaurant will reopen on July 9, 2021. Well, at least there’s one bit of good news for today.

Now onto the pricing. The price of breakfast at ‘Ohana will be $25 for adults, and $14 for children. The breakfast options will include “pineapple-coconut breakfast bread, Stitch and Mickey Mouse waffles, and breakfast skillets with ham, sausage, and breakfast potatoes”. The price of dinner at the same will be $55 for adults, and $33 for children. Said dinner options will include “platters of grilled beef steak, roasted chicken, sausage, and island shrimp casserole served with fried rice and roasted broccolini. ‘Ohana pot stickers, crispy soy chicken wings, and the signature ‘Ohana bread pudding served warm with caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream”. Unfortunately, at the very end, Disney adds that “noodles are off the menu”. That’s it. They don’t offer any explanation. Just those 5 damning words.

‘Ohana: For Want of a Noodle

Something feels missing, but what could it be?

Disney’s decision to axe their signature stir-fried noodles dish at ‘Ohana is mystifying, to be honest. There’s no reason I can think of that makes sense. The noodles aren’t hard to prepare. None of the ingredients seem hard to acquire, even during the era of COVID-19. In fact, all of the ingredients (like broccoli, chicken, pot stickers, etc.) that make up the noodles seem to be present on this revised menu. It’s just that the noodles themselves are missing for some incomprehensible reason. No wonder fans are going nuts over this on social media.

Ohana means family, family means no dishes get left behind.
Disney should really watch their own movies.

Either Disney is paying close attention to the social media storm brewing over the loss of those ‘Ohana noodles and this is their response. or they aren’t and this is just a poorly timed and worded news reveal. Either way, the storm just rages on.

Conclusion

Disney has just confirmed that the dining experience at ‘Ohana at Disney World will be entirely noodle-free when they reopen on July 9, 2021. Disney offers no explanation why. Just that the noodles have been left behind. We’ll just have to see how big this social media storm gets.
