One of the directors behind Batman Beyond recently said that new episodes might be possible. But, there’s a catch: it all depends on how many people demand it.
During the Batman Beyond panel for IGN Fan Fest, fan Max McMillan asked Andrea Romano if we could expect to see a new season or movie anytime soon. Romano replied that everyone involving in producing the series would love to. However, whether they’ll go ahead with it depends entirely on the fandom, and how loudly they cry for it. Apparently, if we the fans make a big enough campaign for it, Warner Bros. might just give in. Romano’s specific words were:
It will depend on the fans asking, and asking, and asking for it until [show owner] Warner Bros. would be foolish not to. So they have to begin a campaign of sorts and just let Warner Bros. know that that’s what they want. Because we would like to make it, it would be great fun – we’re all still around, we’re all still available, everybody’s still doing beautiful work. So yes please, and thank you.
Andrea Romano for New Season of Batman Beyond
Who is Andrea Romano, you might ask? Why, she’s the voice and casting director for the entirety of Batman Beyond. But that’s not all: she also had a voiced role in the series. She actually did the voice of Robin during Return of the Joker, when the poor kid started laughing/crying in a mental breakdown after shooting and killing Joker. Yeah, good times.
Yeah, if Andrea Romano herself is saying that they’re all okay with making a new season of Batman Beyond if fans ask loudly enough for it, I think we can take her word for it.
Conclusion
Andrea Romano, the voice and casting director for Batman Beyond, is basically asking for a giant fan campaign to get Warner Bros. to make a new season or movie. As one of those fans of what is basically cyberpunk Batman, I’d happily join such a campaign myself if it existed. Now please, will someone get the ball rolling so that we can see Terry McGinnis glide through the skies of Neo-Gotham again?
