People have been waiting for news of Elden Ring ever since it debuted at E3 2019. Any news, really. And now it seems, we have it. Just, not officially.

A series of leaked footage from Elden Ring began circulating on the internet recently. Video Games Chronicle first began reporting seeing this footage, but since then, even Twitter users are posting it. Or rather, re-posting it.
Try playing it on loop and see how long it takes for you to stop it.
Ah, much better. At least it doesn’t make your eardrums bleed.

As far as we can tell, all this leaked footage of Elden Ring seems to be for a trailer. Or possibly from the game’s introductory cinematic sequence. It’s a bit hard to tell, and not just because of how low-quality they are. Seriously, it’s impossible not to tell that someone recorded this playing on another device using a mobile phone.

As for this trailer/intro itself, there’s not much in the way of info on Elden Ring. Mostly due to how obviously incomplete it is. The most we get is from a narrator saying “I can only imagine what drives you to seek the Elden Ring. I suppose you can’t be talked into turning back. Very well then!”. Oh, and apparently. there will be dragons. The big dragon with the rhino-like horn was a bit hard to miss.

What’s Elden Ring?

I’m getting Quest for Camelot vibes from this logo.

For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, let me explain a bit. Back in E3 2019, video game fans got a look at a trailer for an upcoming new game in development called Elden Ring.

Getting Dark Souls vibes from this.

The trailer revealed that Elden Ring‘s story would be a collaborative effort between Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin. The former is best known for the Souls series of games, while the latter is best known for the Game of Thrones novels that inspired the very popular TV show. The fact that FromSoftware is developing the game only cements it as a new Souls-like game. With all the difficulty it implies.

When someone asks how to lower the game difficulty: "We don't do that here".
It wouldn’t be Dark Souls if you did.

Since then though, there’s been no news about Elden Ring…until now that is. Maybe with the leak of this trailer/intro, the devs will finally release a proper trailer soon? Only time will tell here.

Some leaked footage of Elden Ring is circulating online as part of a whole series of them. As far as we can tell, it appears to be fragments of an official trailer. Hopefully, it will herald a new official trailer for the game soon. Maybe.
