Zack Snyder‘s 2021 is going pretty great so far. He released his magnum opus in the Snyder Cut but now he’s heading back to where it all started for him. Zombies. That’s right, if you look back at his filmography, his first feature was Dawn Of The Dead. Now, we’re getting Army Of The Dead from him.
The film’s premise and plot is pretty simple, in the best kind of way. Las Vegas has an outbreak of a zombie virus, and this group headlined by Dave Bautista has 32 hours to rob a casino vault with $200 million in it. The only thing that stands in their way is an army of zombies.
This new trailer highlights that the zombies in this film aren’t your standard fare. They’re not invincible like the Return Of The Living Dead kind, but they are more intelligent and faster than normal deadheads.
Zack Snyder directs while Snyder, Shay Hatten, and Joby Harold write the script. It also stars Ana de la Reguera, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Ella Purnell, Tig Notaro, among a huge ensemble cast.
It’ll be survivors take all when Army Of The Dead releases in select theaters May 14th and on Netflix, May 21st.
