If you thought Disney couldn’t possibly release any more new information after its jam-packed Investor Day… think again. Disney+ just announced another new series, Secret Guide to Celestial Creatures.

Secret Guide to Celestial Creatures centers on a Korean American family of legendary guardians. Their job is to protect the supernatural community that lives among us in plain sight.

The one-hour action-adventure drama series comes from the Imminent Collision production banner (via Michael Golamco, Randall Park, and Hieu Ho). Imminent Collision has a first-look deal with 20th Television – now owned by Disney – which is how Disney+ nabbed the series.

Golamco created the original concept for the series. He will executive produce Secret Guide to Celestial Creatures, as well as write the pilot episode. Park and Ho will also executive produce the series.

“We love genre stories that are funny, magical, and emotional — especially when they come from a very specific place that reflects a universal truth,” said a statement from the three. “We’re thrilled to partner with Disney+ to bring Celestial Creatures to a global audience.”

Golamco, Park, and Ho launched Imminent Collision in an effort to create more Asian American stories with universal and comedic appeal. Secret Guide to Celestial Creatures will contribute to Disney’s latest push to include more diverse characters and stories in their lineup.
