Producer and director Jon Favreau has been busy lately. Recently he wrapped production on the first-ever, live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. He’ll also be appearing at a panel for the series at Star Wars Celebration this upcoming weekend. That’s all well and good, but right now all eyes are on The Lion King.

Dubbed as the live-action remake of Disney’s original, 1994 animated classic, this iteration of The Lion King looks and feels about as real as it can get. Disney put the stunning visuals on display by releasing the official, full-length trailer for the film earlier today. You can watch the trailer here:

Disney also release a couple of high definition photos for the film, plus the official synopsis:

From Disney Live Action, director Jon Favreau’s all-new –The Lion King– journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother -and former heir to the throne- has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.”

This version of The Lion King gives those of us who remember the original a healthy dose of nostalgia. It also allows us to now introduce the story to our children. If what Jon Favreau was able to accomplish with The Jungle Book is any indication, Movie goers are in for an incredible treat.

The Lion King opens in theaters July 19.
