Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, Dan Levy, Octavia Spencer, Hannah Waddingham, Sandra Oh, Xolo Mariduena, Kurt Russell, John Goodman, and Billie Lourd also star. Peyo Company’s CCO Nele De Wilde had some thoughts about the brand-new movie. “We are delighted to be working with Paramount Animation on an all-new theatrical production, The Smurfs Movie. Paramount pulled together a dream team of filmmakers led by the smurftastic director, Chris Miller, co-director Matt Landon, and producers Ryan Harris, Rihanna, Laurence “jay” Brown, and Tyran “ty-ty” Smith.”
“This fresh take on the beloved Smurfs will see them go on an interdimensional adventure to discover the power within and answer the universal question: “What is a Smurf?”,” she added. “We’re thrilled that Rihanna is on board to voice Smurfette and write, produce, and perform original songs for the film.”
What Is The Smurfs About?
“When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.”
