PIECE BY PIECE is a rather unique film in so many ways. First off, this biopic from director Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom, Best of Enemies, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?) stars GRAMMY Award-winning, Academy Award®-nominated Musician and Filmmaker, Philanthropist and Louis Vuitton menswear Creative Director Pharrell Williams. It’s a lot to take in, but it sets up the really unique aspect of this biopic: Lego. See, the entire biopic is animated in the Lego style, with everyone being Lego minifigures. All with new custom minifgures from The Lego Group that better represent the styles of African-American culture. Honestly, I do believe more films should feature Lego animation, but that’s beside the point.
What is the point though is that Pharrell Williams is in fact a musician. Thus, it’s no surprise that he would sing a song for his own biopic. This includes the new original song for the film that he just released: “Piece By Piece”. Don’t believe me? Then why not give that song a listen to below, and see/hear if it gets you interested in that biopic?
Pharrell Williams – Piece By Piece (Official Audio): Details
Pharrell Williams is proud to release his new original song “Piece by Piece” from the upcoming animated film of the same name in a YouTube music video, among other music services here. The song not only features Williams as the writer, but as the performer as well alongside the Princess Anne High School Fabulous Marching Cavaliers. All to promote that upcoming film, which as you can see by the thumb, is all entirely in Lego animation.
Even better: “Piece by Piece” is also promoting the new Lego set: Over the Moon. It’s a new Lego set featuring a space shuttle with a golden canopy and a vibrant jet stream of colors, alongside minifigures with the widest range of minifigure skin tones included in a LEGO® product, with seven in total. You can preorder this Lego set right now here.
As for the biopic itself? Well, PIECE BY PIECE will make its theatrical debut on October 11, 2024. You can get tickets for the biopic from Fandango.
