It seems like every hour is the Power Rangers‘ darkest hour, but Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111 insists that it will be the Rangers’ truly darkest hour. Or at least, BOOM! Studios does. Will it live up to BOOM! Studios claims? Well, first off, let’s see exactly what BOOM! Studios‘ claims about this “darkest hour” are, shall we?
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111: Details
BOOM! Studios is proud to announce the latest issue of their long-running Power Rangers comic book series: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111. Melissa Flores (Power Rangers, The Dead Lucky) is the writer behind this issue, with Simona Di Gianfelice (Firefly) as the artist, Raúl Angulo (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as the colorist, and Ed Dukeshire (The Woods, Irredeemable) as the letterer. Taurin Clarke (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) is the artist for the main cover above. Meanwhile, Björn Barends (Spawn), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Keyla Valerio (Power Rangers Unlimited), Ariel Olivetti (BRZRKR), and Tyler Kirkham (Invincible) are responsible for the various variant covers. Although we only have 2 of these variant covers for you to admire today, unfortunately.
According to BOOM! Studios, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111 will mark the beginning of the Darkest Hour event. What is that, you might ask? Well, maybe BOOM! Studios’ official synopsis about this issue can help us out with that. You can check that out below:
Mistress Vile has won, or so it seems, with control of the Grid and Dark Specter’s infections spreading through the universe! As if an epic battle between Vile and the Vessel wasn’t enough, the separated and stranded Rangers receive help from the last team they’d expect, but it may not be the help they were hoping for…
Unfortunately, to find out about this Darkest Hour event, we’re going to have to wait for the comic to actually come out. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111 go on sale sometime in August 2023. You can purchase it when it comes out at your local comic book shop or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. If you don’t mind the digital version though, then you can download it upon release from digital content providers like comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.
