Saying that this year Christmas movies from streaming services have been a letdown is an understatement. Prime Video‘s Something from Tiffany’s is mediocre at best. Netflix’s Falling for Christmas is boring with zero chemistry; The Noel Diary while good is depressing. Christmas with You hits a lot of the cheesy marks and I thought that’s as good as it’s gonna get! Then I watched Amazon Freevee‘s Hotel for the Holidays and FINALLY, we have a fantastic Christmas Rom-Com!

HOTEL FOR THE HOLIDAYS CHECKS ALL THE CHRISTMAS ROM-COM BOXES!

Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch plays Georgia. Georgia is the manager of a high-end, yet falling-apart hotel that attracts guests of all kinds of guests from Princes, to heartbroken singles, and even pop stars! While Georgia loves her job, she dreams of running her own modern versions elsewhere. She’s also not so secretly in love with the head Chef, Luke (Mena Massoud) of the establishment. He is also not-so-secretly in love with her as well. But neither is willing to risk their friendship and admit it. However, when an Ex-Prince shows interest in Georgia will she reciprocate or will she follow her dreams?

This movie is filled with so many fun characters and love stories. That’s right. Georgia and Luke are not the only ones falling in love at the hotel this holiday season! And what’s even better, is that every character, every storyline serves a purpose and has full follow through. There are now leftover dangling strings.

I also love seeing Madelaine Petsch in a role like this. She’s amazing in Riverdale as HBIC Cheryl Blossom, but we finally get to see a softer side to her. She is absolutely romantic lead material! This isn’t Mena Massoud‘s first rom-com. I loved him in Netlfix’s The Royal Treatment! I also love him in this. His chemistry with Petsch is off the charts! There are no body doubles here and I truly believed them as friends, as well as love interests. Finally. Thank you!
