Exclusive: YouTube TV and the NFL signed a landmark deal to get the rights for NFL Sunday Ticket from DirecTV. That Hashtag Show has received some exclusive details about the upcoming inaugural season on YouTubeTV for NFL Sunday Ticket. First off, the price will be lower than it ever has been on DirecTV. We didn’t get specifics on pricing, as they’re still trying to hammer out the details, but we should know sometime after the Super Bowl before Preseason games start in the NFL.
In addition to the lowest price ever, they’re adding new features and functions to the service. One features something that involves live highlights for your favorite team while you’re watching another game and the other is the ability to watch four games at once highlighting specific games.
NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV will also have the Red Zone channel available at an extra charge. They’ll be using Scott Hansen and the NFL Network crew for their version of Red Zone. Red Zone is a huge draw for subscribers because of the implications involving Fantasy Football.
NFL Sunday Ticket started off through DirecTV as a way for out-of-market fans to catch their favorite teams. Since its inception, it evolved into a juggernaut of cable programming that was a great way for DirecTV to get viewers to subscribe to their product. Now with YouTube TV, you will need to sign up with them to get access to Sunday Ticket.
The only games that you won’t have access to with the new Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV will be the Amazon Prime Video games on Thursday nights. Amazon paid a large sum to have exclusive rights to those games for their platform.
It sure looks like YouTube TV is doing the NFL right and also bridging the gap between YouTube and Sunday Ticket.
