The man behind Michael Myers in Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers and Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers, George P. Wilbur, has passed away at 81.

He wasn’t just Michael Myers though, he was a legendary stuntman and enshrined in the Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall Of Fame. His career started as a stand-in for john Wayne, which tells you all you need to know about the hulking man. He went on to amass more than 100 television and film credits in his decades-long career.

He was a stuntman or a stunt coordinator on plenty of movies including Planet of the Apes (1968), Blazing Saddles, The Towering Inferno, Grizzly, Escape from New York, Poltergeist, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, The Beastmaster, Firestarter (1984), Ghostbusters, Re-Animator, Fletch, Poltergeist II: The Other Side, The Monster Squad, Dead Heat, Die Hard, The ‘Burbs, Ghostbusters II, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, Total Recall, The Exorcist III, The Silence of the Lambs, Cast a Deadly Spell, Dr. Giggles, Casino, Mars Attacks!, Spider-Man (2002) and plenty of others.

He also acted, outside of the confines of Michael Myers in films like Every Which Way But Loose, Pennies From Heaven, Firestarter, The Running Man, Ghostbusters II, and Cast A Deadly Spell.

George is survived by his daughter, Gena Wilbur.
