Did you miss Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in theaters? Or maybe you just don’t care for theaters anyways, and want to watch anime films from the comfort of home? Well, don’t worry about that. Crunchyroll has you covered, for a price. Don’t believe me? Then check out Crunchyroll’s trailer for the anime film below, and experience this horrifically bloody love story for yourself:

A Very Cursed Love Story for Your TV

I’m guessing we won’t have any happy marriages here between a guy and a ghost girl.

Crunchyroll is here to remind us that they’re soon going to stream Jujutsu Kaisen 0 on their streaming platform with that English sub YouTube trailer above. If you want to know what Yuta Okkotsu and Rika (not to mention everyone else in the cast) sound like in English, then you can watch the English dub trailer below. Also on YouTube:

The dubbing doesn’t sound too bad actually. Still prefer the English sub version myself though.

So you might be curious as to how soon you’ll get to stream this anime film? Well, as it turns out, very soon indeed. According to both trailers, both the English sub and English dub version of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will stream on Crunchyroll on September 21, 2022. As of this writing, that’s tomorrow, so you definitely won’t have long to wait before you can see how Yuta’s love story with Rika ends. Unfortunately, Crunchyroll is almost certainly going to lock this anime film behind their shiny new paywall. So if you want to watch it, then you’ll have to shell out cash for a premium account.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Details

"Jujutsu Kaisen 0" key art.
Even the key art is a perfect mix of action and horror.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is the anime film adaptation of the manga of the same name, which itself is the prequel manga of the dark fantasy supernatural action horror manga Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami. MAPPA (Zombie Land Saga, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Chainsaw Man) is the animation studio behind this anime film, as they were for the anime it’s based on. Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen, The God of High School) is the director of this anime film, as he was for the anime. Hiroshi Seko wrote the screenplay, with Masaya Saito, Yuri Murai, and Toshihiro Maeda producing. Keisuke Yanagi is the editor, with Hiroaki Tsutsumi, Yoshimasa Terui, and Alisa Okehazama composing the music. Lastly, as you might’ve guessed, Crunchyroll is licensing this anime film for its NA release.

As for what Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is about? Well, Crunchyroll has a rather lengthy official synopsis for it. Check it out below:

“When they were children, Rika Orimoto was killed in a traffic accident right before the eyes of her close friend, Yuta Okkotsu.

“It’s a promise. When we both grow up, we’ll get married.”

Rika became an apparition, and Yuta longed for his own death after suffering under her curse, but the greatest Jujutsu sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, welcomed him into Jujutsu High.

There Yuta meets his classmates, Maki Zen’in, Toge Inumaki, and Panda, and finally finds his own determination.

“I want the confidence to say it’s okay that I’m alive!”
“While I’m at Jujutsu High, I’ll break Rika-chan’s curse.”

Meanwhile, the vile curse user, Suguru Geto, who was expelled from the school for massacring ordinary people, appears before Yuta and the others.

“This coming December 24th, we shall carry out the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.”

While Geto advocates for creating a paradise for only jujutsu sorcerers, he unleashes a thousand curses upon Shinjuku and Kyoto to exterminate all non-sorcerers.

Will Yuta be able to stop Geto in the end?

And what will happen to breaking Rika’s curse…?”
