This casting has been confirmed by various outlets including The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline. Eman Esfandi will play Ezra Bridger in the upcoming Ahsoka series.

Original Piece:

D23 is in full swing and should be full of official announcements and updates on various Disney projects. However, this bit of news is of an unofficial nature. If rumors are to be believed, it appears that Lucasfilm has cast its live-action Ezra Bridger. The rumor also indicates that Ezra Bridger will make their first appearance in the upcoming Ahsoka series. Keep reading for more details on this new casting rumor.

Again, this is all a rumor at this point so use the appropriate amount of skepticism until we have something official. According to Jordan Maison at Cinelinx, Lucasfilm has found their Ezra and cast actor Eman Esfandi (King Richard) in the role. This is of course not the first rumor on casting for the role. It was previously rumored that Mena Massoud (Aladdin) would be playing the part. But if this new rumor is true, it seems that fell through. Esfandi would be taking over the role from Taylor Gray, who voiced Ezra in the animated series, Star Wars Rebels.

Ezra Bridger

Fans have been anticipating an appearance of Ezra Bridger in live-action ever since the reference to Grand Admiral Thrawn was made in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. As Rebels fans know, Ezra and Thrawn were last seen together at the end of Star Wars Rebels,. With Ezra seemingly sacrificing himself to stop Thrawn. With the announcement of Star Wars: Ahsoka and the casting of Sabine, it was expected Ezra and others from Star Wars Rebels would make an appearance. At this time, no official details have been revealed on additional casting, but with D23 currently ongoing, we might get something soon. The most likely time is during Lucasfilm’s D23 panel on Saturday. Perhaps even an official announcement on Thrawn casting, which has been widely debated by fans for quite some time.
