Stray has just made its adorable debut on the PC, PS4, and PS5. You know, just in case any of you want to play Cyberpunk 2077: The Kitty Edition.

Cyberpunk Kitty at Long Last!

Mrow.

Stray officially launched on July 19, 2022. This game is a single-player open-world third-person adventure platforming game where you play as a stray kitty in a world of robots. The cat’s goal is to apparently return to their family. The only things in the way are puzzles and a bunch of robotic (and terrifyingly organic) enemies. Fortunately, the kitty has help in the form of a friendly robot named B-12. B-12 not only translates the robots’ language for the kitty (and by extension the players) to understand but also acts as a flying storage bin for the kitty. Perfect for all of the quest items and collectibles you find during your adventure.

Purrrrrrr.

Want to play as a kitty in a cyberpunk adventure for yourself? Then you can purchase Stray on Steam and in the PlayStation Store for a retail price of $29.99. If you do plan to play it on the PC though, then I must warn you to check the system requirements. If you have a fairly potato PC, then you might not be able to run this game.

Stray was developed by BlueTwelve Studio, and published by Annapurna Interactive. Swann Martin-Raget produced this game, while Yann Van Der Cruyssen composed the music. This game uses the Unreal Engine 4 engine, which explains its very good visuals and why you need a fairly potent PC to run it. So far, the game is only for Microsoft Windows, PS4, and PS5. There are currently no plans to bring it to Xbox yet.

As for what Stray is about? Well, Steam has a rather whimsical synopsis for us on the game’s store page. Check it out below:

“Lost, alone and separated from family, a stray cat must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten city.

Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed, neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by curious droids and dangerous creatures.

See the world through the eyes of a cat and interact with the environment in playful ways. Be stealthy, nimble, silly, and sometimes as annoying as possible with the strange inhabitants of this mysterious world.

Along the way, the cat befriends a small flying drone, known only as B-12. With the help of this newfound companion, the duo must find a way out.

Stray is developed by BlueTwelve Studio, a small team from the south of France mostly made up of cats and a handful of humans.”
