In a Facebook post to his official page, Rob Zombie has set the record straight about The Munsters. Check out what he had to say:

The online conversation about the film has been mixed so far, with some people saying how the film looks cheap, and too zany for something that Rob Zombie is doing. Well, if you remember back to the original series, it looks a lot like this movie does. I might not be the biggest fan of some of Zombie’s films, including his Halloween films, but the man knows how to make a film without a massive budget. For The Munsters, it’s a love letter from Zombie to the original. If you really detest his filmmaking style or the excessive violence he packs into his movies, none of that is really on display here. This is quite simply, Rob Zombie making a prequel to The Munsters.

Those rumors of the film coming to theaters or going to Peacock were unfounded. It’s coming to Netflix and was negotiated by Universal for Netflix. However, the normal policy of Netflix and home video releases being nonexistent doesn’t apply here. Zombie and USA Today confirmed that we will be getting a deluxe edition Blu-ray with plenty of extras. That release comes out on September 27th, 2022.
