As soon as Disney and Marvel Studios got the rights back to all of the Netflix Marvel series, fans have been anxious to see Charlie Cox’s Daredevil return. Rumors had been swirling for quite some time and went into overdrive thanks to recent appearances in the MCU. According to a new report by THR, we may now know when to expect the next appearance of the Daredevil and the Kingpin.

RECENT APPEARANCES

Marvel is no stranger to bringing characters from its extensive roster into its other films and TV shows. Vincent D’Onofrio reprised his role as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin in the Disney+ series, Hawkeye. Once this occurred, fans went into a frenzy anticipating the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil. This appearance occurred in Spider-Man: No Way Home, with the actor reprising his role. In this case, Matt Murdock offers legal assistance to Peter Parker. This confirmation of both D’Onofrio and Cox in the larger MCU led fans to want a return of the Daredevil TV series. A new Daredevil series for Disney+ was reported by Variety back in May. Currently, there are no confirmed details though on that series or when to expect it. However, we do have a new report on when to expect to next see Kingpin and Daredevil.

‘DAREDEVIL’ STARS APPEARING IN ‘ECHO’

According to the new report, fans should expect to see both Cox and D’Onofrio return in the upcoming Disney+ series, Echo. Given the key role Kingpin had in Hawkeye, where Echo was introduced, this is not too big of a shock.

“Sources say Echo will include a plotline in which Daredevil, whose alter ego is blind attorney Matt Murdock, is searching out a former ally,”

Streaming exclusively on Disney, the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward. Echo also stars Chaske Spencer (Wild IndianThe English), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower MoonStumptown), Devery Jacobs (FX’s Reservation DogsAmerican Gods), and Cody Lightning (Hey, Viktor!Four Sheets to the Wind), with Graham Greene (1883Goliath) and Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds, FX’s Reservation Dogs).

Echo previously fought Kingpin and seemed to have left him for dead in the finale of Hawkeye. But as all comic fans know, being dead is not always the case. Production is currently underway on Echo and is expected to arrive on Disney+ in 2023
