I love a good period love story, don’t you? Coming to theaters this summer is Mr. Malcolm’s List. Based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Allain, the film tells the story of jealousy, revenge, and love.

Mr. Malcolm is an arrogant bachelor who insists on finding a wife who meets his super strict list of requirements. However, after years of searching, he doesn’t believe he’ll ever find her. That is until Selina Dalton arrives in town.

Mr. Malcolm’s List – THE PLOT THICKENS

However, things aren’t as they seem. Selina’s best friend Julia Thistlewaite invited her to London in order to exact her revenge. Julia failed to meet an item on Mr. Malcolm’s list. Because of this humiliation, Julia decides to take revenge by convincing Selina to play the role of his perfect match.

In the beginning, Selina is reluctant to be a part of this. However, after meeting him she’s all in, but with a catch. She too has some qualifications she’s looking for of her own. 

The film stars Zawe Ashton (Betrayal) as Julia Thistlewaite and Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) as Selina Dalton. Sopé Dìrísù (Gangs of London) portrays the handsome, yet stubborn Mr. Malcolm. 

The film also stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Haunting of Hill House), Ashley Park (Emily in Paris), as well as Theo James (The Time Traveler’s Wife). Emma Holly Jones is directing, and Suzanne Allain adapted the film.

Mr. Malcolm’s List hits theaters nationwide on July 1st, 2022!
