Courtesy of new photos obtained by GlasglowLive we have our best look at Brenden Fraser while on the set of the new Batgirl film.  Fraser will be portraying the villain Firefly in the new film, which is due to release on HBO Max later in 2022. Based on the images, it certainly appears the villain will be living up to his name, as we see Firefly leaving behind a burning building.

A COMEBACK FOR FRASER

Landing the role of Garfield Lynns / Firefly is the latest step in what can be considered a resurgence for Fraser over the last few years.  Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, Fraser appeared in a multitude of box office hits such as The Mummy and its two sequels.  However, as the 2000s progressed, audiences would see less of Fraser appearing in major films. The circumstances of which can be readily found online. But many fans never lost their appreciation for the actor and Fraser has become somewhat of an internet favorite over the last few years. Since the casting news was announced in the October of 2021, fans have been eagerly waiting to see him in the role.

The upcoming appearance in Batgirl will be the second DC role for Fraser, who has appeared as Cliff Steele / Robotman in the series Doom Patrol since 2019. He also recently appeared in the 2021 Steven Soderbergh film No Sudden Move and was cast in a role in the Martin Scorcese film Killers of the Flower Moon. Things certainly appear to be on an upward trajectory for the actor and his fans couldn’t be more excited for this long past-due return.
