Tim Allen is back as Scott Calvin, better known as Santa Claus in The Santa Clause. The trilogy of Christmas films is getting an extension with a new Disney+ limited series announced earlier today by Disney. The series begins production in March and has Jack Burditt on as Showrunner.

The Santa Clause (working title) is set after the three previous films in the series, The Santa Clause, The Santa Clause 2, and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. It’s been a long time coming for the series with that last film coming out in 2006. In the show, Scott Calvin is about to turn 65 and realizes he can’t be Santa forever. His kids could use a normal life, and he’s losing a step in his gift-giving abilities. The premise for the new show is to find a brand new Santa to take up the mantle.

We’ll update you when we get more details about the upcoming Christmas series.
