It appears that Hugh Jackman accidentally broke the internet by posting a photo of himself with Kevin Feige, and adds a Wolverine picture on top of that. Whoops?

The viral Kevin Feige and Hugh Jackman photo in question.
Not what it looks like at all.

Despite what it looks like in the photo above, Hugh Jackman himself confirms on Comic Book during an interview about his latest film Reminiscence that no, he will not return as Wolverine. Really, he’s not. No matter what the fans think. Jackman is serious about not going back to being Wolverine. The whole thing with the photo above with Kevin Feige and that cryptic Wolverine photo was all a big misunderstanding. Jackman goes more into detail here:

I literally was re-posting fan art and I do it quite a bit because I just love it. And I love the fans. And then I was off doing something and I came back and I’m like, ‘Oh, I think I broke the Internet. No, no, no, no. Guys, sorry. Didn’t mean that. I really didn’t mean that. I’m really sorry.’ And I thought, ‘No one’s going to believe me.’ But that was the case. And you guys are just too fast for me. Clearly way too fast and smarter than me. I just love the fans. And so, when cool things come my way, I’m going to pass it on.

Hugh Jackman: Definitely Not Wolverine Anymore

Hugh Jackman's cryptic Wolverine Instagram post in question.
Tries to post innocent fanart. Breaks internet.

To be entirely fair, when Hugh Jackman himself posts a picture like that one above, you know the fanbase is going to go wild. Unfortunately, he is done with being Wolverine. He said so after Logan, and he’s sticking to his guns after that. You need only to look at all the films he did after Logan to see the truth of that.

If you want, you can pretend this is a Wolverine film.

Conclusion

Hugh Jackman will not return as Wolverine. He really doesn’t want to. The photos were him innocently and accidentally breaking the internet, including the one with Kevin Feige. But hey, if you want, you can just pretend that he’s Wolverine in all of the other films he’s in, including Reminiscence.
