Disney has updated the release dates for several of their upcoming projects. First off, Woody and Buzz make their return to theaters with Toy Story 5 on June 19th, 2026. They’re also pushing back the live-action remake of Moana from June 27th, 2025 to July 10th, 2026. Moana 2, which was swapped from a streaming series to a feature film is opening this November in theaters.

The studio also gave the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian & Grogu a release date of May 22nd, 2026. It’ll be the first Star Wars film to release in theaters since Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker back in 2019. Jon Favreau is on board to direct the film, which is a spinoff from The Mandalorian. It remains to be seen how involved Pedro Pascal will be in this film, as his schedule is very busy, especially after taking on the role of Reed Richards in Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four.

They also gave a new date for Tron: Ares, which releases on October 10th, 2025. That film stars Jared Leto as a rogue program that finds its way into the real-world. The film follows the cult classics Tron and Tron: Legacy.

They’ve also moved the date for The Amateur starring Rami Malek and Rachel Brosnahan from November 8th, 2024 to April 11th, 2025.

This is a developing story and we’ll keep you updated on it as we get more news.
