The Walking Dead returns next month for the special episodes extending season 10. Check out AMC’s teaser for the six episodes below.

During last year’s San Diego Comic Con, The Walking Dead announced plans to shake up its airing plan. In light of the unexpected production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the series decided to extend its tenth season for an additional six episodes. These “bonus” episodes will help bridge the time gap between the tenth and final season, set for 2022.

In the six new episodes of season 10, the survivors try to recover after the destruction of the Whisperers. The years of struggle weigh upon them as past traumas surface, exposing their more vulnerable sides. As they question the state of humanity, the state of their collective community, and the states of their minds, will they find the inner strength to persevere with their lives, friendships, and group intact?

Seth Gilliam as Gabriel, Ross Marquand as Aaron - The Walking Dead

The episodes will feature guest stars including Robert Patrick (Terminator 2) and Hilarie Burton Morgan (One Tree Hill).

The extended season premieres on AMC Sunday, February 28. But if you’re an AMC+ subscriber, you’ll get to watch sooner. Each week, the new episode will drop on the streaming platform the Thursday before it hits cable. So, the premiere date for AMC+ subscribers is actually February 25.

Until then, you can check out additional details about the individual episodes here.

Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier - The Walking Dead
