Marvel’s upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series has been pushed to 2021.

After COVID-19 delayed production on the show, this news isn’t exactly surprising. Disney+ had planned for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to debut back in August. The series, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, should have been Marvel’s first original live-action show on Disney+. (Now, that honor will belong to WandaVision.)

Marvel has not released an official statement about Falcon and Winter Soldier. However, the series page on Disney+ now describes the show as “Coming 2021.”

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier follows the events of Avengers: Endgame. Sam Wilson/Falcon (Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities – and their patience.

Production recently resumed on the series. Mackie tweeted about returning to set.

So, the good news is Marvel is still actively working on the show. The bad news is…well, 2021.

With Falcon and Winter Soldier shifting to 2021, WandaVision ends up as Marvel’s first live-action Disney+ release.

We don’t actually have a set release date for WandaVision either (come on, Disney!), but we’re guessing it will drop in December. Disney+ did confirm the series would definitely debut this year. We’ve even been treated to a new trailer.

WandaVision blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

In addition to WandaVision, Marvel also made a big announcement for its She-Hulk series. Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany will play the title role.
