Batwheels is one of the strangest ideas anyone has ever had. I mean, what do you expect when you come up with an animated series about sapient cars aimed at preschoolers?

Basically what Batwheels is.

Yes, you all heard that right. HBO Max and Warner Bros. Animation are making a new animated series about sapient, superpowered cars going around fighting crime in Gotham City. Even more weirdly, the show will be targeting preschoolers as its intended audience. Batwheels will premier on both HBO Max and Cartoon Network, so your kids can catch it there. And you, of course, if you feel like watching it.

Who knows though? Avatar: The Last Airbender was intended for a young audience, and it was one of the best shows ever created. We’ll just have to see when Batwheels finally comes out. No idea when Batwheels is going to air though. It’s only just started development. Heck, we don’t even know how far development has gone. We’ll just have for official news from HBO Max and Warner Bros. Animation as development continues.

Batwheels Doing Whatever a Batwheels Does

The plot revealed so far for Batwheels is equally as strange as the premise. Apparently, the Batcomputer decides that Batman isn’t enough for Gotham City, and so decides to give life and thought to several Batman vehicles, including the iconic Batmobile, the Batgirl Cycle, the Redbird, the Batwing, and the Bat Truck. It seems like a decent idea, at first. Unfortunately, because the Batcomputer only just gave them life, they now have the minds of little kids. Little kids who have and are potentially lethal weapons do not sound like a good combination in my mind. Not unless they’re quickly taught that: “Yes, you can very easily kill a human by hitting them too hard.”

The synopsis for Batwheels is as follows: “They are a team of incredible crimefighters who have banded together to oppose evil, combat crime and clean up the streets of Gotham City. They are…okay, they’re NOT Batman and Robin. They’re the Batwheels – an awesome group of sentient super-powered crime-fighting vehicles defending Gotham City alongside Batman, Robin, Batgirl and a host of DC Super Heroes. Having just been created by the Batcomputer, our heroes are essentially kids with little to no life experience.

“Led by Bam (The Batmobile), the Batwheels – Bibi (The Batgirl Cycle), Red (The Redbird), Jett (The Batwing) and Buff (The Bat Truck) – must navigate the growing pains of being a newly formed super team as well as the growing pains that come with just being a kid. This relatable and aspirational series will follow the journey of this dynamic team as they thrill and entertain with their heroic adventures as well as demonstrate to kids the value of self-confidence, friendship and teamwork.”

Conclusion

HBO Max and Warner Bros. Animation have teamed up to create Batwheels. It’s basically Cars aimed at preschoolers. Only time will tell if older audiences will be interested by this. We’ll just have to wait until they get around to actually airing it on HBO Max and Cartoon Network. Whenever that will be.
