The production of The New Mutants has been mired in almost as much horror as the story itself. The X-Men spin-off has faced numerous stops and starts, production woes, and speculation of whether the film would ever make it to market or not. However, there’s been a flurry of activity surrounding the production these past couple of months. First there was a surprise trailer during Comic-Con@Home in July, then new artwork. Now, we have confirmation that advance tickets are one sale. The show will go on, in theaters, August 28th. Check out the special look above!

The New Mutants

In addition to the special look from the cast, Twentieth Century Studios also dropped two brand new posters for the film. The New Mutants is the first Marvel spin-off to dive into the realm of horror.

The New Mutants

… an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.”

Josh Boon directs, making a pretty extreme departure from the tragically romantic overtures of The Fault in our Stars. X-Men alumni Simon Kinberg returns to his mutant roots to produce. He does so alongside Karen Rosenfelt and Lauren Shuler Donner. The late, great, Stan Lee stills serves as executive producer.

The New Mutants

Headline the cast of The New Mutants are Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams and Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton. Joining them are Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass); Alice Braga (Predators); Blu Hunt (The Originals); and Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why).

Advance tickets are now on sale. Are you brave enough to meet Magik, Sunspot, Cannonball, Mirage, and Wolfsbane in the theaters? If so, let us your thoughts about The New Mutants and your movie-going experience in the time of COVID-19.
