AJ Styles will be Seth Rollins’ opponent for WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view event.

Monday Night Raw opened with Rollins and Triple H in the ring with Triple H praising Rollins for defeating Brock Lesnar.  A series of WWE Superstars threw their proverbial hat in the ring and announced their intention to be the next opponent for Rollins’ WWE Universal Title.

These Superstars included Styles, Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe, Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and The Miz.  Two triple-threat matches were set up with the two winners wrestling to determine the #1 contender. The winners, Styles and Corbin, faced off with Styles defeating Corbin and becoming Rollins’ opponent for Money in the Bank.

A Chance For Rollins To Show His Skills

This will be the first time the pair have ever wrestled each other in singles competition in a WWE ring.  The pair match up very nicely with both having a similar in-ring style apart from Rollins relaying a little more on his strength.

Rollins in my opinion has not consistently performed at the level he was at pre his knee injury.  This match is a chance to reinvigorate him and his wrestling talent. Styles is the perfect opponent to do this with as I believe him to be the best wrestler in the world at this point in time.  A paper bag and Styles could easily have a 5-star match.

Money in the Bank is always an event I look forward to because of the actual Money in the Bank match.  However, with this match being placed on the card I have another match I am highly anticipating.

Money In The Bank Card And Details

The WWE announced other matches for Money in the Bank include Roman Reigns vs Elias, Becky Lynch vs. Lacey Evans for the Raw Women’s Title and Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

WWE Money in the Bank will take place in Hartford, Connecticut’s XL Center on Sunday, May 19.
