The late Jason David Frank gave many a lot of great memories from his role as Tommy Oliver also known as the Green Ranger. Well, thanks to Diamond Select Toys you can now relive those memories with the Green Ranger Legends In 3D Bust. This half-scale bust pays homage to the classic MMPR series featuring the Green Ranger as he appeared in the show. You can check out my thoughts and pictures of this bust below.

Green Ranger Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust Review

For those who follow my statue and bust reviews, you know that most of mine are Star Wars-related. But just like I did with the Iron Man MK 50 bust I’m changing it up to bring you something different with the Green Ranger Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust. When doing my reviews I look at a few things. Those things are packaging, sculpt and paint quality, and displayability. Also, when doing my reviews I like to get the negatives out of the way first. So without any more waiting, here are my cons and pros of the Green Ranger Bust.

Cons Of The Green Ranger Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust

So like many of the Gentle Giant and Diamond Select items I have reviewed there are very few cons about the Green Ranger Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust. But there are a couple of things I will point out about this statue that stood out to me.

  • Now I understand that this statue is handpainted but there are a few spots where the black highlight lines are a little thicker in some places. Also, there are a couple of these lines, especially on the back that are a little crocked.
  • There are a couple of areas like where the visor meets the helmet the seams stick out a little from where the two different paint colors meet. But you have to look closely to see it.
  • If you are an in-the-box type of collector (yes there are some out there) you will notice the font on the back is hard to read.
  • There are also a few small indentations on the bust and base. (these could be different from bust to bust).

Pros Of The Green Ranger Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust

OK, now that we have those pesky cons out of the way it is time to look at the good stuff the The Green Ranger Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust has to offer. Here is what I liked about this bust.

  • The Green Ranger Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust is packaged well. The bust is in a styrofoam block and has plastic around it to protect the paint.
  • If you are a keep-it-in-the-box person, the box comes with a picture of the bust on the front. Also, the back of the box gives you a summary of the statue. The front of this box will look good displayed in your collection.
  • This bust is very easy to set up since there are no removable pieces and is ready to be displayed right out of the box.
  • The bust sculpt and details are amazing. Looking as he appeared in the classic MMPR show, Tommy Oliver sits atop a detailed green-lightning base. The creative team for the Green Ranger bust did an amazing job.
  • Aside from the small cons I had the paint job looks great and captures the Green Ranger look perfectly.
  • The base is weighted well making it very sturdy and hard to tip over while displayed.
  • Each statue comes with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall the Green Ranger Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust isn’t a bad statue. Now this bust won’t have one of my highest scores for my reviews but won’t have the worst either. The details and sculpt look amazing and will bring back memories of the Green Ranger you used to watch (or still do) on TV. The paint job is really what brings this score down on the Green Ranger bust. Those black lines stand out but at least they are the worst on the back where you can not see them once displayed. If you are a MMPR fan I will say this is still a must-have for your collection.
