Mike Flanagan plus Edgar Allan Poe was always going to be a recipe made in heaven. The writer/director has one last series for Netflix in The Fall of the House of Usher, check out the trailer above. The limited series comes from Intrepid Pictures and is based on “multiple works from Poe”. The limited series debuts on Netflix on October 12th, 2023.
Here’s a synopsis of the series:
“In this wicked 8-episode limited series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.”
The cast is filled with major performers like Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, and Kate Siegel. Bruce Greenwood plays Roderick Usher, the person at the center of all of this.
It also stars Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigney and Robert Longstreet.
This is the fifth and final series that Flanagan is doing with Netflix. His previous series The Haunting Of Hill House, The Haunting Of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Midnight Club have all been major hits for the streamer. Flanagan now has a deal with Prime Studios.
