Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has proved itself to be one of the most popular anime series in existence and for good reason. You would be a very rare individual indeed to not become a fan after watching the very first episode of season 1. Honestly, it makes perfect sense why the anime adapted from the hit manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge became mainstream so quickly. Thus, it also makes perfect sense why the anime is planning a takeover of the real world via Time Square, NYC.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vs. Times Square?
Crunchyroll, Aniplex of America, and Aniplex, Inc. are proud to announce that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will initiate a takeover of New York City’s Times Square. According to them, this takeover will happen on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 9 PM (ET), and will last until 10 PM (ET).
So now that you know this takeover will take place, perhaps you might be curious as to what exactly is going to happen for the duration of this takeover. Well, Crunchyroll has a bit of that info for us today too as a teaser. Apparently, this “epic” takeover will include “stunning visuals from the anime”. Crunchyroll doesn’t mention which stunning visuals these are. However, they do mention that this takeover is to celebrate the latest season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
That would be Swordsmith Village Arc, by the way. In fact, this entire takeover is to celebrate the fact that the finale of the arc is soon going to make its premiere. When, you might ask? Well, Crunchyroll mentions that it’s going to make its debut on Sunday, June 18, 2023. As you might expect though, this latest season of the hit anime will be a Crunchyroll exclusive for the time being. So if you want to watch that final episode, you’ll need a paid Crunchyroll account.
