Rachael Lee Cook is in a new romance story from Netflix, A Tourist’s Guide to Love. Cook plays Amanda, a woman with a great career, and a steady relationship. That is until her long-term boyfriend (Ben Feldman) decides to take a job in another state without telling her.
On the bright side, the travel company she works for is looking at acquiring a tour guide company in Vietnam. So, to drown her sorrows she accepts an assignment to go undercover to learn about the tourist industry in Vietnam and see if it’s worth the acquisition.
However, this is a romance film after all, along the way she learns to let go, enjoy the adventure, and maybe fall in love with her ex-pat Vietnamese tour guide, Sinh (Scott Ly)
A TOURISTS GUIDE TO LOVE IS A SWEET LOVE STORY
I found A Tourist’s Guide to Love to be a sweet love story of self-discovery, trusting your instincts, and learning to embrace what life has to offer.
The film is billed as Romantic Comedy, but I don’t think that’s the right category. Typically in Rom-Coms there are a lot of fish-out-of-water moments, laughs, and drama. A Tourist’s Guide to Love is more romance light.
Rachael Lee Cook and Scott Ly have adorable chemistry that has me rooting for them the whole way through. The drama with the ex-boyfriend was very light, and predictable, but I would expect nothing less from a Netflix romance. It’s why they’re our comfort movies. I don’t always want to feel stressed, I just want to see people go on a journey and fall in love.
So, if that’s what you’re looking for this weekend then A Tourist Guide to Love is the perfect Netflix film for you.
The film drops on Netflix Friday, April 21, 2022.
