Today, over on the Star Wars UK Twitter account, a beautiful new poster for season 3 of The Mandalorian was shared. This new poster is from artist John Valyrakis, The poster prominently features Bo-Katan Kryze. Bo-Katan has been a big focus of the season thus far so it’s fitting to see her displayed front and center. Of course, Mando and Grogu are also featured, along with a few others from the series. However, it is Bo-Katan looms largest on the poster. Keep reading for a look at the new poster. The focus this season on Bo-Katan, has been welcomed by many fans, though a few have also been disappointed by the lack of Din Djarin screentime.

STAR WARS UK THE MANDALORIAN POSTER

According to artist John Valyrakis, his poster takes inspiration from vintage cinema poster and screen printed designs. You can certainly see the vintage influences in the work. The large sun in the background and orange rocky landscapes look as though they could have come straight from a film poster from a 1970’s Western. A genre, which has no doubt been an influence on The Mandalorian series.

“My love for vintage cinema posters, screen printing and character design are the main ingredients that formed my artwork. The elements are orchestrated so a rhythm of multiple intense and dynamic scenes define the forefront, as Bo-Katan Kryze imposingly emerges.”

WHO ELSE IS ON THE MANDALORIAN POSTER?

Din Djarin’s heavily modified N-1 Starfighter can be found on the poster, being pursued by TIE Interceptors. This is taken directly from Chapter 17 when Din and Bo-Katan contended with a squadron of TIE fighters. In the foreground of the poster, we are also shown several Jedi with lightsabers raised. A callback to the latest episode where it was revealed who saved Grogu from Order 66.

In addition to Bo-Katan and Din Djarin, one other character in Mandalorian armor appears on the poster. Boba Fett can be found just to the left of Bo-Katan. Fans have certainly been anxious to see if Boba Fett makes an appearance in the new season. So far we’ve only got a name drop of the famous Bounty Hunter. Peli Moto made the quick reference to Boba Fett in Chapter 18, when she asked Din if he was there to “take out Boba Fett”. This line would at least seem to confirm the fact Boba is still on Tatooine and running things in Mos Espa. Though he seemed less than enthusiastic when we last saw him about doing so.

Given the relationship between Boba and Din, I certainly don’t anticipate any “takin’ out” of either by the other. In fact, the image of Boba used in the poster is taken from the last time the two fought side-by-side to save Mos Espa.

With a focus this season on the Mandalorian culture and rebuilding their numbers, it wouldn’t be a shock to find Boba Fett called into action. Of course, whether or not his inclusion on this poster is a hint at a future appearance or simply a tiny easter egg for fans, only time will tell.
