Welcome to the MCU, Manny Montana! Deadline reports the actor has joined the cast of the upcoming Marvel show Ironheart as a series regular.
Ironheart follows Riri Williams, a genius inventor and creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Montana joins lead Dominique Thorne in the series, as well as Anthony Ramos and Lyric Ross.
Marvel comics first introduced the character of Riri Williams in 2016. A 15-year-old MIT student, she manages to reverse-engineer Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit. Thorne will make her MCU debut as the character in the upcoming Black Panther sequel, Wakanda Forever. The film will set up the Ironheart series.
Currently, details about Montana’s role in the series remain unknown. As usual, Marvel is keeping us in the dark with this one.
Montana is known for his regular role on NBC’s Good Girls. He recurs on the current season of FX’s Mayans M.C., and will appear in the next season of HBO’s Westworld.
Ironheart comes from head writer Chinaka Hodge, who also serves as an executive producer. Other EPs include Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout.
