Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is proving that romantic comedies are the big thing in anime in 2022. Why else would it be getting an anime adaptation?
AKA: Kubo Won’t Let Me Stay a Manga
Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible now has as official Twitter account for its anime adaptation, which posted the announcement just recently. According to the announcement, this Weekly Young Jump manga will finally get an anime. Pine Jam (the animation studio behind the anime adaptation) drew up a teaser visual to promote the anime. You can see it above. However, that isn’t the only piece of artwork promoting the anime. In another Twitter post, the creator/mangaka of the original manga, Nene Yukimori, drew up a piece of artwork to celebrate the occasion. Check it out below:
Unfortunately, neither of these Twitter posts actually tell us anything more about the Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible anime. One of the things they don’t tell us is when we’ll actually see this anime. Neither of those Tweets gives us even a hint of a release window. We’ll just have to wait for official word from Pine Jam to see when that will be.
Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible: Details
Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is an ongoing romantic comedy manga by Nene Yukimori, whose only other manga is Ningen ni Koi shita Oni ni Warau (The Demon Who Falls in Love With Humans is Smiling). As you can see, they seem to have a thing for romance stories.
The anime adaptation of Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible will feature Pine Jam (Tawawa on Monday, Just Because!, Kageki Shoujo!!) as the animation studio behind the anime. Kazuomi Koga will direct the anime, with Yūya Takahashi as the writer. Kana Hanazawa will voice Nagisa Kubo in the anime, while Kengo Kawanishi will voice Junta Shiraishi.
As for what Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is about? Well, Viz Media has a synopsis for Vol. 1 of the manga that explains a bit more in detail. Check it out below:
“When Kubo sits next to Shiraishi in their first year of high school, Shiraishi’s nonexistent social skills get a boost. Speaking up in class is only the beginning for Shiraishi—soon Kubo forces him to be noticed at school, at the bookstore, and all around town. Shiraishi’s once-lackluster life isn’t so dull anymore!”
You can read a portion of Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible on Shonen Jump on Viz Media. I say a portion because their chapters go from Ch. 1-6, and then just skips all the way to Ch. 79 to the current chapter. Why? Don’t know. Since Viz Media is making you pay a subscription to read these chapters, I recommend waiting until Viz Media actually has all the chapters before paying that subscription.
