Well, it already looks like Snowpiercer season 3 is looking more hopeful than the 2013 film. How do I know this? Well, the new trailer from TNT seems to suggest this. Check it out for yourself below:
Snowpiercer Season 3 Trailer Inbound From Line YouTube
In addition to that first look trailer posted on YouTube above, TNT also gives us the release date for season 3 of their Snowpiercer series. Apparently, season 3 will premier on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT). You can watch season 3 only on TNT, which technically makes it a TNT exclusive. HBO Max is streaming the series, but as of this writing, they only have access to season 1. Who knows when, or if, they’ll get to stream seasons 2 and 3? So in short: you’re going to have to cough up some cash for a TNT subscription. If you have cable though, you can watch it for free. You know, since you’re already paying for cable and all.
Snowpiercer Season 3: Details
Snowpiercer season 3 is the latest season of the hit sci-fi series based on the 2013 film of the same name directed by Bong Joon-ho, which is itself based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand, and Jean-Marc Rochette. If season 3 follows the previous 2 seasons, then it will consist of 10 episodes as well. All seasons were produced by Tomorrow Studios and CJ Entertainment, with ITV Studios handling international distribution.
As for the plot of Snowpiercer season 3, TNT does give us an official synopsis. Check it out below:
“At the end of “Snowpiercer” season two, Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Ruth (Alison Wright), who were banished to Big Alice’s compost car, plotted to take back Snowpiercer. With the help of Javier (Roberto Urbina) and Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard), Layton and Ruth made it back to Snowpiercer and rallied with their supporters. Josie (Katie McGuiness) destroyed the Aquarium car, separating Snowpiercer’s head from the remaining 1,023 cars. Season three picks up with Layton (Diggs) and his inner circle commanding a small 10 car “pirate train” in search of Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) and a possible warm location to restart civilization; while back on Snowpiercer, Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) is consolidating power, awaiting Layton’s return.”
