We’re running right up to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. While the game won’t release with Warzone implementation, it’s coming in December. Warzone was the battle royale mode for Modern Warfare. It arguably was the most popular addition to that game. So it’s exciting that it’s getting updated with details from the new game. What is a little less exciting is that the game mode is staying on the Modern Warfare engine.
While the Black Ops Cold War beta left a bit to be desired, it is true that the Modern Warfare engine runs better. So if you’re a seasoned veteran of the game, you won’t see many changes besides cosmetic ones. The news was verified by an Activision Art lead on the website Reset Era. While it’s unusual to get news from a message board normally, this is legit.
It’s looking like Warzone will be relatively untouched by the release of Black Ops Cold War. Which is either good news or bad news depending how you like Warzone. If you’ve enjoyed it over the past year, then you’re set. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War releases on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, November 13th.
