In case you’ve been living under a rock or going crazy in quarantine like the rest of us, Iron Maiden are releasing a new live album. The album, Nights of the Dead – Live In Mexico City is taken from their Legacy of the Beast tour. In the video above, lead singer, Bruce Dickinson goes over some small details about the album. He also teases a very popular Iron Maiden song. (Please add it to the setlist for 2021!)
Nights of the Dead releases November 20th, 2020. If you’re a superfan of Iron Maiden like me, you can get a bunch of different versions of the album. Including, multiple variations on the vinyl, a 2CD digibook version, and more. You can check out the different versions at their website, here.
It might not be the new studio album that we’re all waiting for after the 2015 release of The Book of Souls, but it’s something. The last Iron Maiden live album released was The Book of Souls: Live Chapter. That album was a pretty fantastic cut from the Book of Souls tour.
Nights of the Dead looks and sounds to be no different. I’m a little disappointed that we’re not getting a live video as well, but those things take longer to edit and release. Let’s just be happy that we’re getting some new Maiden during this time. And rejoice that we’re getting a live album with some songs that haven’t been released live before like “For The Greater Good Of God“.
