The upcoming Karate Kid reboot film looks like it’s getting an all-star ensemble for its just-upcoming cast. An upcoming cast that just keeps on growing and growing as time passes, I might add. Which brings me to the film’s latest addition to that cast, by the way. Please welcome Ming-Na Wen! Who will she play, you might ask? Well, let’s find out together, shall we?

Untitled Karate Kid Film: Ming-Na Wen Details

Variety has just reported that Ming-Na Wen has joined the cast of the still-untitled Karate Kid reboot film. According to them: Wen will basically play TBA. Who is TBA, you might ask? Well, TBA stands for “To Be Announced”. That’s right. We don’t know who Wen will be playing in this upcoming film, and no one apparently does. In fact, much of this Karate Kid reboot film is so far under wraps, that we barely know anything about it period. We know that Jonathan Entwistle (I Am Not Okay With This, The End of the F—ing World) is the director, with Rob Lieber (Peter Rabbit) as the screenplay writer, and Karen Rosenfelt as the producer, but that’s it.

What we can tell you is more info about Ming-Na Wen though. Fans of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will recall that she played Melinda May / The Cavalry in that Marvel series. However, fans of Disney will also recall that she played the titular starring role in the 1998 Mulan animated film. Going back even earlier though, Wen had her breakthrough role be as June Woo in The Joy Luck Club in 1993. No matter how you look at it, this is definitely an actress who’s a veteran of countless starring roles. Thus, whatever role she will play in this untitled Karate Kid film is in good hands here.

Alas, we will have to wait until December 13, 2024 before we get to see this untitled Karate Kid Film, as well as Ming-Na Wen’s role in it. Tune back in to THS later to find out more about this Karate Kid reboot film when we do.
