For the first time, Diary of a Wimpy Kid is coming out with an animated Holiday Special! I had a chance to sit down with writer/creator Jeff Kinney to discuss bringing Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever to life!

The animated Christmas comedy special serves as the seventh installment of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid film series. These films are all adaptations of the original books written by Jeff Kinney, who is both an author and a cartoonist. The special continues the tradition of bringing beloved characters and stories from the books to life through animation, providing audiences with a festive and humorous holiday experience.

Whether you’re familiar with the book or not, this movie offers a heartwarming and enjoyable Christmas story. Its blend of likable characters, humorous moments, and the overall festive ambiance make it a perfect choice for anyone seeking a feel-good holiday film.

“I can’t go to jail! My parents would be… disappointed in me!!”

CHECK OUT MY INTERVIEW WITH the WRITER OF The Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever, JEFF KINNEY, BELOW!

I had a GREAT time chatting with Jeff about the inspiration behind the book-turned-film. We also dove into family holiday traditions, what Christmas song puts him in the spirit, as well as which boyband members are Ken’s vs Alans. Yes, this conversation took an interesting turn.

It’s always a blast getting to discuss films with their creators. Personally, I think this is the best Wimpy Kid movie yet. I appreciate getting to see Greg’s growth as a character as well as improvements with the animation. So, if you’re looking for something new to get you into the Holiday spirit, Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever is now available to stream on Disney+.
