Welcome to CinemaCon 2023! The convention you’ve never heard of until now and that you won’t get to watch anything shown off at it. Today, Disney’s panel showed off their movie slate for the coming year. We’re likely to get looks at Elemental, and possibly other Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures, films.

We’re kicking off the panel with the co-chairman of Disney, Alan Bergman taking the stage. They’re showing a sizzle reel with footage from all the different Disney-owned studios including Marvel Studios and showcased other films like The Banshees of Insherin and The Menu.

Disney’s Senior VP of Studio Distribution Tony Chambers took the stage next. He had this to say. “Not only is this year our 100th year as a studio with some incredible titles anchored in the Disney heritage, but it’s also the first year since 2019 that we’ll be releasing a film from each of our famed production studios.”

The Disney Panel Kicks Off With New Footage From Marvel

The Marvels and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were highlighted next with footage shown from both tentpole films from Marvel Studios.

Here’s a highlight from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 footage that was shown.

“Gamora insists she’s not the same person who fell in love with Peter. “You were everything to me, and I miss you,” he says. The moment gets interrupted by some silly banter from the Guardians.”

Following the Guardians extended footage, The Marvels was showcased!

After that was some news about their upcoming movie Wish. They revealed that Chris Pine will play King Magnifico in the film.

In the exclusive clip, they showed off featured Ariana DeBose singing. “‘I may be young, but I know I’m not wrong,’ Ariana DeBose’s Asha sings as she runs through her kingdom, followed by an adorable lamb sidekick.’

Pixar, The Little Mermaid, And More

Following that, it was time for The Little Mermaid. Melissa McCarthy took the stage to present a clip from the film. “It was such an honor to play one of Disney’s most delicious and iconic villains.”

Our reporter on the ground had this to say about the footage: “Song was good, McCarthy isn’t quite as expressive as the animated version, but otherwise it seems to be a faithful recreation.”

Disney’s Haunted Mansion is up next with some brand-new footage! According to our reporter on the ground: “The footage was scary, but Disney scary. Lots of nods to the ride. Feels like classic Disney.” They also promised that the cameos in the film are “to die for”.

Pixar’s Elemental had a 20-minute showcase in 3D for the people in attendance.

The Peter Sohn-directed title is set in Element City, where fire, water, land, and air residents live together. It follows Ember (Leah Lewis), a tough, quick-witted, and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade (Mamoudou Athie) challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.

Some More Films Shown Off From Disney

They followed up Pixar with a look at Taika Waititi‘s Next Goal Wins starring Michael Fassbender as a down-on-his-luck soccer coach.

A Haunting In Venice was the next film shown off starring Michelle Yeoh. In the footage shown, she leads a seance, and it has a much darker tone than the previous Kenneth Branagh Poirot films.

The new sci-fi epic The Creator had a trailer shown off, it stars Gemma Chan and John David Washington.

Harrison Ford addressed the crowd in attendance with a video message: “Thank you so much for your support. We’re thrilled for everyone to experience our film on the biggest and best screens.”

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is next and will close out the presentation for Disney.

The clip shown from the film features Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge racing through the streets in pursuit of Mads Mikkelsen. They bicker as they’re also being chased by bad guys.
