The Droughtlander comes to an end this summer. The penultimate season of Starz’s hit romantic drama Outlander will premiere Friday, June 16.
The extended 16-episode season will be split into two parts of eight episodes each. The second half of the season will debut sometime in 2024.
Outlander is based on the international bestselling book series by Diana Gabaldon. The upcoming season will dive into the Revolutionary War, drawing from Gabaldon’s seventh book, An Echo in the Bone. The series stars Caitríona Balfe as Claire Fraser and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser.

In addition to Balfe and Heughan, the show’s cast also includes Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, David Berry, Caitlin O’Ryan, Paul Gorman, Charles Vandervaart, Izzy Meikle-Small, and Joey Phillips.
The season 7 premiere of Outlander will release on streaming on June 16th at midnight ET. Linear viewers can catch the premiere on Starz at 8pm ET/PT. Following the premiere, new episodes will release weekly on Fridays.
Starz previously announced Outlander would end with its eighth season. A prequel series, Blood of My Blood, focused on Jamie’s parents, has also been greenlit.
