UPDATE: Variety is reporting that the viral report from JustJered is false and their sources are saying that Amber Heard is still in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

In an explosive new report, embattled actress Amber Heard will no longer play Mera in any future DC project. In addition, her role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been cut. Just Jered had the exclusive report detailing DC’s decision. The actress was at the center of a trial between her and Johnny Depp about defamation. According to the report, the film is going in for reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman, with a new actress playing Mera.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set for release on March 17th, 2023. DC released the first footage from the film earlier this year before delays hit a majority of the DC film slate.

The 36-year-old actress saw her involvement in the sequel come into question because of the six-week-long defamation trial where DC boss Walter Hamada admitted that they thought about recasting her because of her chemistry with Momoa.
